New album "Hollerin' Soul" out March 1st 2022

04/02/22

After a whirlwind year (a year between updates!) I have some great news. My first full length album "Hollerin' Soul" drops on 1/03/22. There are 8 tracks in total: 6 original songs and 2 traditional songs. The album is the product of a year of slowly chipping away behind the scenes with the help of some wonderful collaborators. The songs are rooted in the folk and blues traditions, but are not musically limited to those traditions and many songs/passages would fall into the contemporary  Americana category. As usual expect banjo, double bass, fiddle, harmonica, acoustic guitar, resonator guitar, some cool harmonies here and there, and a few other layers to help with the overall dynamic. The album will be available on CD at live shows, and online at Amazon, Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp. Please follow me on Instagram or Facebook for more regular updates.

2021 Projects and Collabs

06/01/21

So its been a while between updates and we've all endured a hell of a year in 2020, which has taken its toll on every corner of the live music industry. Brisbane has been lucky enough to have returned to an almost functioning live music scene at the time of writing. I am currently performing regularly both as a solo/duo act under my own name, and playing with a couple of great bands: "Melody Graves & the Hokum Redemption" and "The Rural's" (Aus). Both bands have their own online presence elsewhere in cyberspace so check them out if you like Bluegrass, Jug band, trad jazz (NOLA style), country blues, oldtime or acoustic blues.

In the near future I will be doing a series of video recordings with the  goal of bringing my online footage up to date with my current musical  orientation and more accurately represent the last couple of years of developement.

Finally, I am excited to be beginning work on a full length recording/release in February, which will hopefully reach the public domain in physical and digital form before the end of the year.

All the best for the coming year folks, I hope we can all navigate its challenges with humility, resilience and compassion.

New Years Eve at Soapbox Beer

31/12/2018

I will be playing a couple of sets down at the wonderful new Soapbox Beer  craft beer brewery. The place looks amazing and is the product of many months of hard labour. 89 Gipps Street Fortitude Valley. First set kicks off at 6:30pm. Should be a great night.
